ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಾರದಿರುವವರಿಗೂ ಓದಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಈ ಲೇಖನವನ್ನು ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವೆ.
November 1st is a special occasion for KANNADIGAS as it is on this day that our state
came into being. KARNATAKA was formed on 1st November 1956 when Government of India decided to form linguistic states.
Today with great pain and anguish I share my feelings on what is happening in KARNATAKA to
the aboriginals of KARNATAKA in the recent past.
I have been noticing that many of our fellow KANNADIGAS don’t use proper KANNADA and are
unaware of the common KANNADA words. They find it difficult to converse in KANNADA and they are so much inclined towards other languages that, they have totally forgotten their regional language.
A Maharashtrian succeeds in teaching a non maharashtrian MARATHI, but a KANNADIGA fails or never bothers to teach KANNADA to non kannadigas.
WHY IS THIS?
I stress that if people try to speak with you in any language other than KANNADA or
HINDI, reply in KANNADA only, even if they don`t understand the language (or pretend that they don`t know the language), speak in KANNADA(Under unavoidable situations dont follow strictly).
After all its We Who have to BUILD and Take CARE of our language.
I have even noticed people here giving more priority to other languages movies, news papers and TV channels।
I have experienced the same at our office too.
I see many of my colleagues who are part of this state from years, who have been enjoying all the benefits and securities awarded, falling against our state in many
issues.They are not supportive towards KANNADIGAS.
Let me raise some points that highlights our state KARNATAKA:
1. KARNATAKA was formed to satisfy the wishes of millions of KANNADIGAS in just the same
way any other states such as Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu was formed.
2. In BANGALORE, today the percentage of KANNADIGAS to the total population is decreasing day by day .Thanks to the "Others" flowing into the city in search of BETTER CLIMATE , Calm city, JOB opportunities , ADJUSTING NATIVES and many more reasons.
3. Due to GLOBALIZATION OF ECONOMY, it has become difficult to stick to one region or state to fulfill one's ambitions/goals and whatever। This forces people to look for better opportunities, migrate to different countries, different states and prosper. This is not an undesirable one.(Another reason for migration)
4. In Bangalore, you find Andhrites, Gujarathis, Keralites, Marathis, Sikhs, Sindhis,Tamilians, Anglo-Indians etc., living peacefully in the state without causing undue tensions to the localites and to themselves unlike "Others".
5. What is undesirable however is, they are taking undue advantage of mildness and goodness of locals (in this case, Kannadigas).
If you visit Okalipuram, Shivajinagar interiors, Krishnarajapuram, Attibele etc. you can hear
tamil Songs shouting on the Loud speakers almost 24hours.
If you visit BEL, BEML, ITI, factories of BANGALORE and many software majors in Bangalore
you will find locals hardly in number when compared to organizations such as Banks, MRL,CRL etc. in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore,Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and such other places where you find their locals.
Many of these "Others" recruit only graduates hailing from PG of Coimbatore,
Anna University, Madurai Kamraj University, Calicut University and such "other" universities.
- Most of "them" never make an attempt to learn local language and force the locals to communicate
to them in "other" languages only.The buses and other transportation vehicles carry a board in the local language.
- Go and visit cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Madurai, Coimbatore and check for yourselves if
you can see at least one Kannada cinema! Lets not bother about the theatre , you will not find even
posters to that effect. This is how the "others" are treating us. We must be ashamed of this!
6. This is not enough, they capture innocent, cultured, God fearing and mild people of KARNATAKA
and make our life miserable as though they own this land for centuries and treat Kannadigas as
hapless servants of theirs. In fact, the demands of Veerappan were actually not of his at all. They were
so much political in nature that it was the plot of avaricious people. (You know who are the ones after
all). Why did Veerappan bother about Cauvery River Issue when he only required amnesty and may be
some grand some money! Why did he want Tamil to be made the state language when he could neither
write nor read Tamil. This is the plot of vested interests of some extremists who have fostered great
nationalistic (!) leaders.
What is the solution?
Insist on these:
1. MAKE KANNADA A COMPULSORY LANGUAGE TO BE TAUGHT IN ALL SCHOOLS
AT LEAST TILL 7th STANDARD. If some schools do not agree, cancel the recognition; there are
umpteen interested school developers to solve this problem.
2. INSIST ON THE FACT THAT EVERY ORGANIZATION EXISTING IN BANGALORE
SHOULD HIRE LOCALITES WHEREVER POSSIBLE. We need people like Bal Thackery in
Bangalore to straighten this out.
3. Check the infestation of these "others" wherever possible and ENSURE KANNADIGAS ARE
GIVEN PROMINENCE WHILE ENTERING THE SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
ESPECIALLY PROFESSIONAL COURSES.
If my suggestion does not satisfy you, please go and check the colleges and universities in TamilNadu
and Kerala and you find hardly 0.01% KANNADIGAS getting seats and admissions there.
4. INSIST THAT EVERY "OTHER" GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL RESIDING IN
KARNATAKA SHOULD LEARN KANNADA IN THE NEXT 1 YEAR AND SHOULD
CORRESPOND ONLY IN KANNADA. RESTRICT FACILITIES LIKE RATION CARDS
AND SUCH OTHER BENEFITS TO THOSE WHO DO NOT WISH TO COME INTO THIS.
5. DON'T GIVE ONE DROP OF WATER MORE THAN THE QUOTA OF CAUVERY
WATER AWARDED by the tribunal.
- After all, there are lots of Non-Kannadigas staying in Bangalore exploiting the nature, food,
every facility of Bangalore.

If you are a real KANNADIGA and a good humanitarian,
- please make everyone aware of this situation .
- Let the world know who is troubling and exploiting whom.
If we don't act now, what will happen in future is that people will say if YOU ARE a true
KANNADIGA, You should know TAMIL,TELUGU,MALAYALAM,MARATHI,GUJRATHI………
but not KANNADA.
On NOVEMBER 1 , KARNATAKA will be in a joyous mood. Its a government holiday and very few
will be out in the streets and community centers chanting Rajyotsava. Majority of people will enjoy the
gift of a holiday.
That does not necessarily mean KARNATAKA is cool and peaceful. The state has been witnessing hues
and cries now and then from a section of society.
REASON: DETERIORATION IN THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE USING KANNADA AND
DOMINANCE OF OTHER LANGUAGES.
Government didn't keep quite. It gave a call to observe Kannada Awareness in the year 1993. It even
formed a committee called KANNADA KAVALU SAMITI (KANNADA WATCH DOG).

I read, what u wrote about karnataka & kannadigas, ok before teaching kannada to others just concentrate on our state problems
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ಸೆ ಗಳ ಕಡೆ ಗಮನ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಿ,
ಮೊದಲನೆಯದಾಗಿ : ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ ,
ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಉಧಾಹರಣೆ : ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ನೀರು ತಮಿಳಿನವರ ಪಾಲಾದಾಗ ಇಡೀ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಬಂದ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ರು , ಗಲಾಟೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ರು , ಆದ್ರೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ನದಿ ನೀರು ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪಾಲಾದಾಗ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ,ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ , ಹೈದರಾಬಾದ್ - ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಮಲತಾಯಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ರೀತಿ ನೋಡ್ತಾರೆ , ಯಾಕೆ ನಾವೇನು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಲ್ಲವೇ ? ಬರೀ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅಲ್ಲಾರೀ , ..ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮುಲೆಗೆ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಆದ್ರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಾಣೋದಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ರೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಆಗಬಾರದು ಯಾಕಂದ್ರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ , ರೆವಿನ್ಯೂ ಸಿಗೋದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಂದ ತಾನೇ?
ಅಲ್ಲರೀ ನಮ್ಮ ಊರ ಕಡೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳ ನೋಡ್ರಿ, ಅದೇ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರತಿ ಗಲ್ಲಿ ಗಲ್ಲಿಯ ರಸ್ತೆ ನೋಡ್ರಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದ್ರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತಿ ಹೊಸ ಟಾರ್ ಹಾಕೋದನ್ನ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಲ ನಾನೇ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ , ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಒಂದೇ ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಬರಬೇಕು ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡು, ನುಡಿಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳಸಬಹುದು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವೇ ಕಿತ್ತಾಡಿದರೆ ಬೇರೆಯವರು ಲಾಭ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಸುಮ್ನೆ ಇರ್ತಾರೆನ್ರಿ ? ಬರೀ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಉದ್ದಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲಾರೀ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಇತರೆ ನಗರಗಳಾದ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ , ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ , ಗುಲ್ಬರ್ಗ , ರಾಯಚೂರು , ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ , ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ನಗರಗಳ ಕಡೆ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸಮಾನ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಹಾಯ, ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ , ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚಿಂತಿಸಲಿ . ಈಗಲಾದರೂ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳಸೋಣ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆಲ್ಲ ಒಂದಾಗಿರೋಣ .
ಜೈ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಿರಿಗನ್ನಡಂ ಗೆಲ್ಗೆ , ಸಿರಿಗನ್ನಡಂ ಬಾಳ್ಗೆ .. !
